Nine blokes showed up, all good strong singers. Three had been there at the pilot session in April, which was useful, and two others I knew from other groups I’m involved with. I think/hope others will come out of the woodwork as time goes on.
We sang a capstan shanty, a song about navvies, a Georgian toasting song and a sea song about Noah and the Ark (including the answer to the age-old mystery of why dogs’ noses are cold). We made a mighty noise and felt good.
