Who’s behind this?
The songs are led by Harry Campbell, who also leads groups such as Voicebeat and Largs Community Choir, and was one of the people that started Govanhill Voices.
Occasionally the group is led by Rory Haye, co-director of the Glad Community Choir and performer with such groups as Alex Rex, Honey and the Herbs, the Four Hoarse Men and (along with Harry) Muldoon’s Picnic.
Our singers come from musical backgrounds from folk to musicals to opera. Some are members of community choirs around Glasgow, while others are new to harmony singing.
The parent and creator of Voicemale is Finn’s Place, a wellbeing project based at Langside Parish Church on the South Side of Glasgow. The Finn of Finn’s Place was a cat. Probably not much of a singer.
